ACM Auto Sales Certifié Auto Service

I brought my truck to ACM Auto Sales Certified Auto Repair for an inspection on July 12, 2026. I was told the passenger-side ball joint needed replacement to pass inspection. I authorized the repair and was ultimately charged $1,026.38. The truck was at the shop for approximately a week. About three weeks later, the passenger-side strut failed. I returned to ACM but was told they were not liable. I took the truck elsewhere for a second opinion and had the repair completed there. Now, on August 28, I've had another shop inspect the truck because of a clunk while turning. I was told the ball joint ACM replaced is loose and needs to be replaced again. I've been quoted another $345 for that repair. I was also quoted $375 to replace both strut/shock assemblies after another one developed a problem. I'm extremely disappointed that after paying $1,026.38 for the original repair, I'm now being told by another shop that the ball joint that was recently replaced needs replacement again. Between the cost, the week-long original repair, and the problems I've experienced since, I don't feel comfortable bringing the truck back. I'm posting this because I think other customers should know about my experience.

I’ve been to ACM auto a few times, my experiences have been good, my only problem was one time they quoted me one price, and once the work was complete, i had to pay almost double the quoted price. I understand work can take longer depending on the vehicles condition, but charging almost double the price seems a bit excessive, they also should’ve called me and made sure I was okay with it.

Didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of. Mike was so kind, and I feel like he did a great job, at a decent price.

Was quoted $600 and it was turned into $1500. Would recommend any other place in oromocto.

I had a very poor experience with ACM Auto and would not recommend them. I brought my vehicle in after receiving a verbal estimate of approximately $700–$800 total. When I picked it up, I was charged over $2,000, with no clear explanation for the increase. I questioned the bill at the time but was not given a breakdown that aligned with what had been discussed. After the repair, the vehicle was no longer roadworthy and could not safely maintain highway speeds. I returned it to the shop, after which communication became extremely limited. Over the course of several weeks, I had to repeatedly call for updates and was often told they were “busy” or unsure of the issue. I was later charged an additional $260+ for further diagnostics that were not clearly discussed or authorized in advance. The vehicle was still not fixed. The matter was eventually escalated to upper management, who coordinated a tow to the dealership and explored a possible manufacturer warranty path. While these steps were presented as goodwill, they did not result in any correction of the billing issue, acceptance of responsibility for the estimate overrun, or meaningful resolution. Ultimately, the vehicle was deemed uneconomical to repair and I was left without a usable car after significant expense. Overall, the experience involved major cost escalation beyond the quoted estimate, prolonged delays, poor communication, and no resolution of the original problem.

I went to this shop because my tires were completely flat and my cute green Beetle was shaking violently. At first, they seemed great—they even helped retrieve my car from a nearby parking lot and drove it for me since it was unsafe to drive. They kept the car over the weekend and worked it into their schedule. However, things went downhill from there. My check engine light was on when I brought the car in, and they said they didn’t do anything to my engine or under the hood and that it went away on its on but the light came back on within two minutes of driving away. I also wasn’t kept updated on the progress of my car; I had to call them each time for information. When I picked up my vehicle, I later discovered they had removed my spare tire from the rim and returned only the rim without telling me. The tire they repaired began losing air again the very next day. On top of that, when I tried to put on my winter tires( to get the tire that keeps going flat off)as I do every year every lug nut had been tightened so excessively that even a friend weighing 250 lbs, using spray and applying over 500 lbs of torque, couldn’t loosen them. I ultimately had to replace all the bolts. Because of the poor handling of my car, I ended up spending an additional $700 at another shop. Overall, this was a very disappointing and costly experience.

Worst service I have EVER experienced. If there was a rating of zero I would give that. They don’t even deserve the ONE star.

We can’t say enough good things about ACM Auto Ltd! Our car broke down on the way from Pictou County to Montreal, and we were in a really tough spot with our baby and two younger sisters with us. Mike fit us in right away, stopped everything he was doing to help, and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Not only was the service fast and professional, but the price was also extremely fair. It’s rare to find someone as kind and genuine as Mike — he truly treated us like family. Worst customer services the guys is unprofessional untrained need good staff and good mechanics 🧰 I had an extremely disappointing experience with this service. The inspection process was poorly handled, and it felt like a deliberate attempt to overcharge customers. I would strongly advise against using their services if you want a reliable and honest inspection.

Unprofessional service

I had the worst experience at ACM when I went in for a vehicle inspection (MVI). They kept my car for the entire day, only to fail it, claiming it needed new rear shocks and a rear subframe. I sought a second opinion, got the necessary repairs done at a different shop, and returned to ACM within the 14-day rejection timeframe. However, they kept my car for another whole day and failed it again, this time citing issues with the front struts, exhaust muffler, and sway bar links. Throughout this ordeal, the front desk staff were rude and unprofessional, and it was evident they had little idea of what they were doing. The place itself looked rundown and abandoned, which didn't inspire confidence. Adding to the frustration, ACM charged me twice for the MVI, even though they are only supposed to charge once if the customer returns within 14 days. I eventually went to Canadian Tire, where my car passed the inspection without any issues. I highly do not recommend ACM. Best Mechanics in town. Put up with my antics for a year and always professional. Rebuilt a totalled vehicle for cheap when I didn't have the means. Thank you Mike and crew.

Mike is a great owner. I have been there few times and very happy with the services. The last time for some issues on my daughter’s car, he kindly checked and figured out the issue, fixed, filled some oil but kindly waived the fee. Not seen like that before.
